One of the things I constantly talk about is how we have refused to increase our oil refining capacity in this country.  It’s been thirty damn years since one has been built. 

Well, great news from South Dakota this week, as voters in Elk Point approved a zoning change that would allow some farmland to be used for a new oil refinery there.  While there will still be challenges from the environmental morons there, this is one significant hurdle they have overcome.

For such a “transcendent” candidate, Barry sure isn’t one to use original material.  So far, he’s ripped off Deval Patrick and Cesar Chavez, and now it looks like he is stealing from Mario Cuomo:

Hillary may have lost the battle for the nomination, but Rush’s Operation: Chaos may help McCain win the war in November.  I mean, how awesome is it that the GOP can run anti-Barry ads using the words of PEOPLE IN HIS OWN PARTY AGAINST HIM!  Hell, combine the ad below with ones just using his bitch of a wife’s own words and McCain would have to be Bob Dole incompetent to lose…

So, Barry made this big speech at AIPAC this week, trying to hoodwink Jews into thinking he is their friend.  This is despite his long association with an anti-Semite for a pastor and anti-Israeli policy advisors.  Anyway, he babbled on about how he was on Israel’s side and how he’d talk so tough to those mean Iranians that they’d never, ever think about developing nukes. 

Well, there are those claiming that he may not be as Israel-friendly as he leads you to be.  Take a look:

So, after the debacle that Father Michael Pfleger caused this past week, his boss the Archbishope of Chicago Cardinal Francis George told him to take a few weeks off.  I am assuming that “told him” really means “go somewhere and shut the fuck up, now!”.  Father Mike didn’t think this was such a good idea, basically telling Cardinal George to take his authority and shove it.  Well, Cardinal’s don’t really tolerate in subordination too well, so he suspended his crazy ass.  As of now, he has been temporarily removed from his position at St. Sabina’s.

I will give him this, he has a set of grapefruits.  I guess he missed the day in seminary when they tell you that the Church is not a democracy and you don’t challenge the Archbishop’s authority.  Of course, considering he violated church rules by being a part of Obama’s campaign, something tells me he missed a lot of days.

So Bridget Bardot lost her “hate crime” case in France the other day.  This is so stupid.  Whatever happened to the old idea of disagreeing with someone but defending their right to say it?  For that matter, when did it become a crime to offend someone?

The larger issue is this:  a certain segment of the Muslim world is a bunch of f’n babies.  They bitch and cry and throw temper tantrums when people say something that offends them.  Then they run to mommy and daddy (the government) and demand that they punish the offenders, or they will throw a bigger fit (like kill film makers and issue death threats). 

It’s high time Europe and the rest of the West demand that they start living according to the rules of Western society and not their own.  If they don’t like it, they can fuck off and go back to living in the dessert without running water.

Porky the Pig (aka Hugo Chavez) has tightened control over the Venezuelan people, restructuring the country’s intelligence agencies and attempting to turn the population into a giant mass of snitches.  This is just the latest act in his quest to turn the country into Cuba and consolidate all power in himself. 

I used to feel a little sorry for the Venezuelan people.  But sooner or later, as a country you have to stand up for yourselves.  The man is stealing all of your freedom and running your economy into the ground.  The money you are making from oil is being used to fund terrorists in Columbia and help prop up the oppression of the Cuban people.  Wake up people, wake up.

New polling data shows that more Americans are supportive of laws requiring proof of citizenship to vote.  It’s about damn time.  I can’t understand how anyone could be against ensuring that the people voting are actually allowed to vote.  Considering I have to do circus tricks to cash a check at my bank, I think it is certainly appropriate for people to prove they are citizens to cast a ballot.
