Some news on the death penalty from the US Supreme Court:
The Court declared that lethal injection is constitutional, and following the ruling several states lifted moratoriums on the practice immediately.
While it is unclear what its ruling will be, the Court also took up a case about whether or not states can execute people convicted of child rape. I can see this coming down to a 5-4 vote, with Kennedy or Souter being the swing vote. As someone who has thought that child rapists and molesters don’t deserve to live, I am hoping that they rule its constitutional.
